THE TREATMENT OF CONVULSION WITH HERBAL AND LOCAL THERAPIES

As we all know that traditional medicine use for a particular ailment might not be one. I would like to discuss the other medicine and therapy that can be used to cure convulsion which I gained in the cause of my research on about this deadly disease, apart from the ones I discussed in my previous post

THE USE OF ALUM

The majority of the mothers that have treated childhood convulsion at home claimed the effectiveness of using blue alum.

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Soak BLUE ALUM (ALOOMU DUDU) in water for three days to dissolve totally. The dissolved blue alum is either forced into the prised mouth of the convulsing child with the hope that he/ she would swallow it or the dissolved alum is painted topically on the body of the convulsing child.

DOSAGE:

The dosage is one spoonfuls of the dissolved blue alum which must taken or painted topically on the body of the patient once per week.

THERAPEUTIC INCISIONS (ABEE YIYA/ ABEE SISA)

The concept of making therapeutic incision on a convulsing child common practice in Osogbo south western Nigeria. It is believed that childhood convulsion like other illness including sickle cell anaemia and arthritis are due to “black blood” an incision making create an avenue for letting out this “black blood” and thus affect healing.

PRECAUTION:

Before and after therapeutic incision(ABE YIYA), a traditional herbal concoction called fold blood concoction (AGBO EJE) must be taken by the patient to avoid shortage of blood.

Why should you never skip breakfast

WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST

According to a recently available review in the Journal of the North American College of the university of Cardiology, those who skipped breakfast will experience atherosclerosis, a.k.a hardening of the arteries, than those who ate a regular, healthy meal each day.

The connection, it seems, is that those who find themselves breakfast skippers generally have more poor diets and standards of living than those who don't. They fall within the analysis that overall, those who choose to skip breakfast possessed poorer diets, were much more likely to acquire high blood circulation pressure or be fat, and were much more likely to be smoking or consume alcoholic beverages in excess. Many of these factors lead to an elevated risk for atherosclerosis. Insufficient breakfast time is not the reason, by itself, but an indication of other health patterns.
Now, once I read the research synopsis, I got abruptly reminded of another research Not long ago I perused. It connected low potassium consumption with hardening of the arteries.

I got to think eventually that doe insufficient breakfast also indicates less nutritional intake overall, and for that reason, lowered intake of critical nutrition for heart and soul health?
Consider it. If you're skipping a whole meal, the one that for some, provides approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of their daily calorie consumption and nutrition, wouldn't this eventually impact on nutrient position (specifically potassium) and for that reason one's heart?.

Now that brings us to the question: what then makes up a healthy breakfast? Let's get into some potassium rich breakfast ideas to get you started and going in the morning:

*Sweet potato hash and eggs
*yogurt with fruit and nuts
*Protein shakes:
        -Add banana and/or berries
        -Add avocado
-Mix with coconut water for a super potassium boost
*Egg scramble with spinach, and onions.
And so on as long as you enjoy your home made desert.

I Hope those ideas get you started. Just remember, starting your morning with healthy foods straight away sets you up for a day of healthy eating. So eat something, even it is small, and get your day off to a good start. Your heart will thank you.
